Re: Resolution defaults to 72 ppi on Save
<r>As long as the number of pixels hasn't changed then the apparent size of the image is an arbitrary choice which you can set as you wish. If you have a screen with 28 pixels per centimeter and one with 38 and one with 128 your 1024-pixel wide image is going to display at different sizes unless you...

Re: sizing question
<t>Thorsten has it right Ginny because "dpi" means nothing until an image is being considered for printing. The makers of your digital frame should have told you to use 1080 pixel (wide) images and the mention of 15" and 72 dpi should never have appeared. Only in the rather arcane world of creating ...

Feature suggestion
When GC is searching for duplicate images I'd be useful to be able to have the list of potential duplicates written out to a file for review. Even better if you could then read that file back in and start from that list for comparison and possible deletion. Rich

Re: [UPDATE] opening full resolution photoCD images
<r>I'll experiment Thorsten to see whether it is possible. Obviously I can't just send the image file since that doesn't contain the info necessary to reconstruct the high-res image. But I will try and see if something can be put t0gether that shows the same behaviour. Rich On 7-2-2010 15:26, Thorst...

[UPDATE] opening full resolution photoCD images
<r>After running through my set of photoCD disks GC (running under rosetta) was able to convert many of the images to full-size tiff files. But for several of them GC would just hang (spinning beachball) and I'd need to force quit and then select the files beyond the one that caused the hang and try...
