drawing goes off the screen too much
<t>Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? Very frequently I zoom a drawing so that I can access, say, a short line. When I do, the drawing zooms up but part of it appears off to the left and I can not access it. Often, that is where I need to get, too. There is no elevator available (...

Having trouble recognizing lines
<t>Cadintosh 7.0.5b2, OS Lion. This has happened several times in the last month and it mystifies me. I'll be working away and draw a line parallel to another, or try to, and start getting weird behavior. The Hand tool won't recognize the newly created line (won't highlight), and the cutting tool wi...

Re: Dock causing Cadintosh to crash
<r>Thorsten: Months ago, I reported that CADIntosh was crashing when I put a file on the dock (i.e., hit the yellow button). Intel Mac, OS 7.2. I just downloaded the newest beta, 75b0, and have had a file on the doc for 20 minutes; no crashes. It looks like that problem is gone. Thanks. john --- In ...

Re: Feet AND inches?
<t>I'm now having trouble w/ this procedure. It only works well if you have one layer. If you have two, or more layers open, it changes the dimension lines just fine, but it combines the layers into one. I had about 10 layers open so I could change all the dimensions at once, and was puzzled why I s...

Re: Feet AND inches?
<t>Alessandro: You did it again. Many thanks. I tried a host of options, but did not think about the "/12" part. That did it perfectly. You should write a book of all your tricks and earn some money. No, wait; just keep telling us for free! Ha ha. BTW: Don't bother getting familiar w/ our measuring ...

Feet AND inches?
<t>Pardon us, but we in the States have not yet adopted an intelligent measuring system. I would like to enter, say, a distance of 1' 3 1/2" to a parallel line from the selected line, without having to know that 1' 3 1/2" = 1.29'. I can go the reverse, ie, enter 1.29' for the distance to the second ...

Cadintosh vs Autocad
I am just getting my feet wet w/ Cadintosh, and am wondering how it compares to what I understand to be The Big Daddy of CAD software, Autocad. Will Cadintosh do as much? I would be surprised if it did, as Autocad costs a few grand. Thanks.

Re: Changing ALL dimensions
<t>Alessandro: I tried what you said, and it is very clever. Worked like a charm. I was confused by one line of your instructions, but I figured it out quickly and re-wrote what you said, expanding a bit. Thanks very much for the "trick". john. Here is what I did, in my lingo, which may not be exact...

Dock causing Cadintosh to crash
Curious: Is anyone else having a problem where if you put a drawing on the dock, Cadintosh will crash w/in 30 seconds? I mentioned the problem to Thorsten and he is working on it. It is not a big deal, as you usually don't put files on the dock, but it is a small PITA.
