BTW, I have through trial and error figgered out how to solve my problem. Starting with only 2 pages, I ensured that the Page 1 window was in front of Page 2, then selected File/Merge open Pages into one Document. I got the two pages merged into one, in the correct order. I then opened Page 3 ...

Thanks for the reference.
I tried "+Merge +open +Pages", both with and without the double-quote marks. In both cases, all three words were ignored by the search function because each is too common.
Do you see another way to interpret this advanced instruction?
