Thanks for the reply. I guess there is a way to import XMP/IPTC to the respective Exif Meta data. I prefer to have all the relevant meta data e.g. date picture taken, Geo Location and potentially Face detection within the jpg file. My current workflow seems very awkward to me. Like everybody has experienced, Apple Photos is a black hole with respect to users meta data. The export functionality is extremely clumsy and made to make the user not use it and get locked into the Apple walled garten.
