Thank you for your quick response, Thorsten. I downloaded the beta, ran GC First Aid to delete preferences, but the transparent image background still shows black rather than the gray and white checkerboard.

I just installed the GraphicConverter version 10.6.4 (3185) update. I opened a .png file that has a transparent background and instead of the gray and white checkered background I am used to seeing, the background was showing as black.
