Reducing pdf file size
I'm editing a pdf file consisting of several hundred pages of a book, scanned at 300 dpi. A typical page requires a small rotation, erasing of stray marks, re-centering within an 8x11 format, and saving at 150 resolution (60% jpeg compression)— in other words, no apparent increase in content. Yet th...

Re: Difficulties Using Macros
Just for comparison, I recorded another macro using a different set of operations: ctrl-command-L, cut, paste, move selection, move selection frame, crop, and save. After Stop/Save, the macro name appeared on the macro menu, but it still won't execute. Choosing Show Macro from the menu, it reads: Ch...

Re: Difficulties Using Macros
Examining the macro in question, I couldn't determine if it had any content at all (500 bytes), so I deleted it from the Library and tried to make a new one. Now, at the Stop & Save step, I choose a name and hit Save. The Save As page disappears from the screen and no macros are listed under the...

[Solved] Difficulties Using Macros
I recently upgraded from GC9 to GC11 and was pleased to see that 11 has a macro feature. However, I am having no luck getting any macros to work. I can create a macro and save it, and the name appears at the bottom of the macro icon pull-down. I would have expected that selecting it on that list wou...

Re: [Solved] Problems with multi-page pdf files
Thanks for all your help. I've been using GC for decades, and there's still so much I don't know about it!

Re: [Solved] Problems with multi-page pdf files
Thanks for the tip— upgrading to 11 solved most of my problems. As for splitting a multi-page pdf into multiple separate pages, I still don't see a way of doing that directly in GC, but there is a work-around: convert the large pdf file to png. This disaggregates it into separate png's, which can th...

Re: [Solved] Problems with multi-page pdf files
Please forgive my obtuseness, if that's the source of my problem, but in Convert & Modify I can find no such "Resample PDF" function. Also, just below the Function pull-down menu, I do not see a Filter box. I would suspect that I do not have the current version of GC, but it is 9.7.6 a...

[Solved] Problems with multi-page pdf files
I need to change the resolution and/or color depth and/or orientation of every page of a 150-page pdf document. I can find no way to do this for the document as a whole, so I tried going through it page-by-page, changing the resolution etc., saving, and going on to the next page. But besides being t...
