Re: Convert and Modify losing metadata
I checked your file. Convert&Modify keeps here the metadata.
Please check the JPEG options.
Did you maybe uncheck the saving of XMP? Or did you maybe check the optimization with ImageOptim which does normally remove the metadata?

Please download build 4732. Open sets now only the checkmarks for the changes fields.
You can customize the shortcuts with the system settings keyboard/shortcuts.
I added the popup with the two variants to avoid the alert dialog.

Re: Convert and Modify losing metadata
GraphicConverter keeps all metadata.
Please send your source file zipped (to keep all data) and the exported settings to support@lemkesoft.de for testing.

Re: Layers - erasing from top layer
That works in GraphicConverter, too.
You need only the normal blend mode.
Just create a new layer and copy the complete image.
Select the background layer and i.e. blur.
Select the top layer and erase with the eraser.

Re: Organising photos
I suggest to use IPTC/XMP keywords.
Just use the browser, select a file and press command + I. Enter your keywords under the keywords tab and check the option "Set Keywords as Finder Tags".

Re: Deleting files
Hi, GraphicConverter displays the content of your file system. It uses no database. So, you do not import any photo into GraphicConverter. All images stay at their location in the file system. You can find and trash duplicate files with the function: Screen Shot 2020-12-28 at 20.56.45.jpg Just go fi...
