Scanning with Canon TWAIN drivers in 10.9 and 10.10

Post by rob_gendreau »

I had been having trouble scanning into GC and other applications. Mr. Lemke figured out that this was because the drivers were still 32 bit; I had to restart GC in 32 mode to make use of the Import>scan functions with both a Canon 8800F and P-150M scanner. Ugh. And other applications, that only used Image Capture, couldn't see the scanners at all. Nor could the Image Capture stand-alone application. The solution is to install TWAINbridge from an earlier OS; this clever fellow figured it out:TWAIN Scanners in OS X Maverick : janegil.netNot only did my scanners now show in Image Capture in Mavericks, but I tried it in Yosemite and it works there as well. GC9 can import from Image Capture, so now I can use that to get scans into the application (I scan objects and old photos, so it's very handy).Rob
