Duplicate to layer

One thing I always seem to need to do is to copy objects to a different layer. It's obviously easy to 'Apply Layer' to objects, but that MOVES them to the other layer. I need to be able to COPY them instead. Many commands allow the option to move or copy by specifying a 0 or a 1, but I've not been able to find anything similar for copying to a different layer.I know how to copy or duplicate whole layers, but I need to be able to do it to individual objects. Is there something I'm missing that will allow me to do that, or is it not currently possible? If not, is it something we could request to have added as I'm sure it would be useful for many other users.Ken G i l l e t t_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/
