Scaling Cadintosh drawing for 1:1 printing

Post by jmjocius »

How can I simply get 1:1 precision on a 8 1/2 x 11 inch in Imperial inches?Using Cadintosh 7.5.4, (I need to drill 183 holes for hinges) I have not found a way to print out a true, full, 1:1 scale precision 6 hole drilling-centers-pattern template, Using Printer paper 8 1/2 x 11 inches1) For Drawing menu pop up, SelectedOptions >Drawing, Paper Size >[User define] and Scale [1.00000]" from the menu and chose [inch] and [Imperial] for drawing units. A) Accepted defaults (for HPGL- Area) Width [3.970] inch, and Height [3.970] inch B) Set Type [Decimal]; Accepted Precision (ANSI) greyed out 1/64 C) Accepted [ ] (Unchecked box) of Limit to inch (Only Fraction) D) Accepted User Defined Name [dcm] and Relative to mm [100.000000]2) To set up print page:Tried "File >Area >Options >[Default] >Scale [0.03281] (=1/30.48 as "John" wrote here on 21 May 2007)3) Tried "Group >Create with Window and selected all geometry (pattern of 6 hole centers for a hinge) and used 0,0 as center. But as "John" wrote, I could not get his steps to work:Select "Group->Change Scale" and for the scale factor use the inverse
of your original scale factor [.03281 / 1]. This gets you back to full scale. Do
the procedure again using your new scale factor. Thanks for any set up guidance.Jim J

Hello Thorsten,I tried >File >Area >Scale 1.0000 with >File >Select Area with Window snapping exactly a surrounding 8 1/2" x 11" (and named it: 8 1/2 x 11 Area 1). Result isa surrounding white space of 3 cm on left and right sides, 3.5 cm at top and 4 cm at the bottom outside of the 8 1/2" x 11" rectangle area specified and thus less than 1:1 scale.Your expertise is still needed.Jim J --- In cadintoshmac@yahoogroups.com, Thorsten Lemke <lemke@...> wrote:>> Hi,> > the print scale has to be 1 and it will work.> > Thorsten> > > On 14.07.2013, at 01:13, jmjocius <bjimj@...> wrote:> > > > > How can I simply get 1:1 precision on a 8 1/2 x 11 inch in Imperial inches?> > > > Using Cadintosh 7.5.4, (I need to drill 183 holes for hinges) I have not found a way to print out a true, full, 1:1 scale precision 6 hole drilling-centers-pattern template,> > Using Printer paper 8 1/2 x 11 inches> > > > 1) For Drawing menu pop up, Selected> > Options >Drawing, Paper Size >[User define] and Scale [1.00000]" from the menu and chose [inch] and [Imperial] for drawing units.> > A) Accepted defaults (for HPGL- Area) Width [3.970] inch, and Height [3.970] inch> > B) Set Type [Decimal]; Accepted Precision (ANSI) greyed out 1/64> > C) Accepted [ ] (Unchecked box) of Limit to inch (Only Fraction)> > D) Accepted User Defined Name [dcm] and Relative to mm [100.000000]> > > > 2) To set up print page:> > Tried "File >Area >Options >[Default] >Scale [0.03281] (=1/30.48 as "John" wrote here on 21 May 2007)> > > > 3) Tried "Group >Create with Window and selected all geometry (pattern of 6 hole centers for a hinge) and used 0,0 as center.> > > > But as "John" wrote, I could not get his steps to work:> > Select "Group->Change Scale" and for the scale factor use the inverse
