Pasting another image with transparency over another image

Post by Buadhai »

I would like to paste one image with transparency over another image so that the second image shows through in the transparent areas.

Is this possible?

This is the image I want to paste over a similar image.

You helped me with this five years ago and I was able to do want I want. But, now I'm trying again and can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong?

As you can see, I have the video you made on screen as a guide. I still can't get it to work.

See the video of my failure here: https://www.mgnewman.com/gc/alpha_chanel.mp4

I know I missed something, but I don't know what it is.

======

Edit: Well, I sort of solved the problem. I was unable to select/copy/paste, but I was able to select and drag. That worked. Any idea why copy and paste didn't work?

GraphicConverter uses an alpha channel for this.

Please email both source files to support@lemkesoft.de

I will make a short tutorial.
