[Solved] Importing photos from a SD card?

Post by Traveller »

When I plug a SD card into my Macbook Air GC asks if I want to browse the images. I select “Browse”, the SD card appears in the folder tree as a “Device”, but there are no sub-folders visible in the tree. No DCIM folder filled with photos from the SD card. Thus, I cannot import photos from the SD card directly. Is there anyway to directly import photos onto my computer using GC?

Maybe the Apple Image Capture SDK does not detect it correctly.

But you can access it directly. Just look into the folder tree. There should be an item "NONAME" if this is the name of your card.
Just click onto that.

I clicked on the SD card (NO NAME), but nothing happened. 0 reported folders and files, even though there are a bunch of photos on the SD card. At this time I have no way to directly import images into GC.

The same SD card should appear above devices in the normal folder tree. Do you see it there?

Just click onto the SD Card directly in the folder tree as shown:

No, I have clicked on the SD card icon above the folder tree as well as that inside the folder tree. No effect. Neither show the two folders that exist on the SD card (DCIM, ALBM). I tried this with two different SD cards, both formatted in my Olympus OMD. To GC these folders do not exist. ?

Did you grant full disk permissions to GraphicConverter?

Also, do you use the normal or the Mac App Store version of GraphicConverter?

Also, the macOS may ask if you grant permissions to access an external disk. You have to agree to that, too.

I can now see my image files in the tree! Granting full disk access cured the problem. Thanks.
