I have used Graphic Converter for years and I am suddenly having a problem that is driving me CRAZY.
I am using version 10.5.5.
(Excuse my incorrect terminology below.)
Normally, when you open an image, you click with your mouse, drag the cursor, lift up your finger, and you’ve selected a rectangular area to work with.
Today, I somehow changed *some* setting on Graphic Converter — I can’t figure out which one — and NOW when I “click and drag,” NOTHING happens — the arrow cursor seems to change randomly to a crosshairs or a hand, but that’s about it. I can’t figure out how to get things back to “normal.”
I’ve tried all the following, with no luck:
* going through every setting I could find;
* going through every preference I could find;
* looking through the manual;
* selecting “Restore to Defaults” in the Preferences;
* deleting the program and its file in “Application Support” and re-installing it;
* restarting my computer.
Nothing has worked!
I’m sure that’s it some tiny, tiny setting somewhere, but for the life of me, I can’t find it.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I’m at the end of my rope!!!!!!!
Thanks to all,
Jellybean

Yes, that did it! Thank you! It was really driving me nuts!

The patch solved the cursor selection problem, but now I no longer get a mini-thumbnail in the image title bar; and the unwanted white frame has reappeared around the completed image thumbnail.

The white bordered icon is the default macOS preview display.
Just save the images with a custom icon in the resource fork if you do not want this.
