[Solved] Summary tab display cut off in browser

Post by michaelhobi »

Hello

I have the 'Summary' tab as default in the browser. When selecting an image the lower part of the tab is cut off (black) and only shows after I click on the 'Summary' tab label.

After selecting an image, the display is cut off:

After clicking the 'Summary' label it is shown completely:

Hi,
I've been seeing a similar issue, under both GC 10 and GC 11. The Exif and ExifTool tabs, for various images, are cut off. (I have only just started using the software, and I'm not sure how to get the Summary tab mentioned here.)
I've also seen the ExifTool data not scroll down to the end.
At one point, one of these seemed to cause a system crash. (I sent the report in.)
These screenshots show the cut-off text:

Thanks and regards,

Please download the latest BETA at:

http://www.lemkesoft.org/beta.html

That should fix it for GC10 and GC11.

Hi,
Thanks for the speedy fix!
The beta works great for the text clipping!
However, I'm still seeing the inability to scroll down in the ExifTool data - but not for every image.
To repro, I'm selecting the ExifTool tab and then clicking between the images on the Thumbnail view mode. I'm not sure why it's for some and not others. Also, it's not consistent per image - an image's data might not scroll the first time, but will not scroll when you go back to it, or vice versa. The directory I'm browsing has images from many different sources (multiple camera types and scans), so I don't think it's related to the actual exif data, but I can't be sure. I tried to look for patterns in the Exif data but don't see any.
It's possible this is related to a crash with the pane resizer I've seen on both GC 11 and the GC 11 beta (that fixed the clipping). I sent you the crash reports for those under my helentodd05 at gmail account.
Here's a screenshot of the lack of a scrollbar in case it's helpful.

Hi

Unfortunately for me it is still not working with 11.0.1 (4015).
The behaviour is different now:

When selecting an image the text is cut off:

Screenshot 2019-06-11 at 21.54.48.png (163.45 KiB) Viewed 6647 times
When clicking on the 'Summary' tab title the text is still cut off, but the labels on the left get wider:

And on the 'Image' tab the 'Tags' is not left-aligned and cut off at the right:

The beta did not resolve this issue for me either. I am searching for a way to completely uninstall and see whether that cleans it up, though.

Which macOS do you use?

Is there any error message in the console from GC?

Hi

I have macOS 10.14.5 and didn't see any output related to GC in the Console.
Using the GC First Aid App to delete the preferences didn't help.

Thanks, that fixes it ;-)
The text is first cut off, then after some small delay it is being redrawn and displayed completely.

Have a nice weekend
