[Solved] Copy Comment to IPTC Caption

Post by andyalm »

Hello Thorsten.

Should this option in "Convert & Modify" copy the Spotlight Comments from a MacOS file to the IPTC Caption field? I am trying to use GC 11 to copy Spotlight Comments into standard metadata. It's not working for me (MacOS 10.14.5). The GC documentation says only this:

"Copy Comment to IPTC Caption (modifies source) copies the comment into the IPTC caption. This is useful if you want to continue work with the data in another program that can only display the other area."

Thanks for everything.

Hi,

this command copies the JPEG/GIF/TIF comment field into the IPTC caption.

Use the context menu in the GraphicConverter browser to copy the Spotlight comment:

Thank you, Thorsten. Selecting multiple images in the GC browser allowed me to apply the command to all at once with a control-click on any image, then selecting the "Copy Spotlight Comment to IPTC Caption" option in the context menu.
