When you use the Media Library interface in the Browser (eg: macOS Photos) the images displays and if you have a batch operation, operated on, are the original images not the edited version. When you use Open from the File Menu you get the Edited version.

This is a major shortcoming that makes batch operations on photos in the Photos library useless.
