[Solved] Convert and Modify losing metadata

Post by Bangorite »

I'm trying to convert a batch of TIFFs to JPG but when I use Convert and Modify I'm losing all my metadata. If I do a Save As... everything works as expected. Under Options... in Convert and Modify all the boxes under Embed Metadata (if available) are checked. I must be missing something somewhere. How can I convert my photos to JPG while retaining metadata?

GraphicConverter keeps all metadata.

Please send your source file zipped (to keep all data) and the exported settings to support@lemkesoft.de for testing.

I checked your file. Convert&Modify keeps here the metadata.

Please check the JPEG options.

Did you maybe uncheck the saving of XMP? Or did you maybe check the optimization with ImageOptim which does normally remove the metadata?

The problem turned out to be the option to post process with ImageOptim which strips metadata. Unchecking that box in Convert and Modify Options solved my problem.

Many thanks to Thorsten for figuring out my problem. As always, his customer service is excellent.
