Hello,you can redownload from the Mac App Store as often as you want. You do not have to pay again. I have similar problems with Apple on other software.  I believe it is because I moved /Applications to it's own partition.  It still resides where it should, but checking to see if it is the startup disk will return false.  So I think Apple ignores it as not being the right directory.Michael.
