Fill Question

Post by David Knodel »

When i fill an area with a diagonal border, I get a jagged line at the margin between the selected fill area and the rest of the image. How do i prevent/correct this? j David

Hi David, "jaggies" occur when the brush/pencil is too hard and/or the resolution of the image is already too low. The keyword is anti-aliasing. Try a different (smoother) pencil/brush shape. Another technique would be to use a high res image, apply the diagonal line, then resize to the smaller image size. If there's no high res image to start with: use a 2x or 4x larger (empty) file with the same aspect ratio, fill with a diagonal border, scale file down (in 50% steps) to the needed size, copy/paste diagonal border into image (try darken only).
