Flat View and Ratings

I am using GC 9.4 in flat view to review a bunch of folders. I started trying to assign ratings inside of flat view, using both the number keys as well as clicking the rating. While ratings work fine in normal views, they do not seem to apply in the browse flat configuration. In all cases, the rating is not assigned.

I'm trying to get GC to run trouble free (pop-up window free), on my Mac-Pro G5 PPC, OS-X10.4.11. May I register my 6.7.9 version of GC so the pop-ups will go away.??
