[feature] .. despeckle

Post by frissenm »

Hi, it would be a good idea (IMHO) to add: - despeckle - remove jpg artefacts - dust removal algorithm in GC Also, the levels dialog could be enhanced (the little arrows under the histogram are very hard to move) and: split channels.. this function would be more useful if it actually split the channels into 3 different images (or layers.. ).. oh, and CMYK would be nice as well.. :) Marco

Hello, > it would be a good idea (IMHO) to add: > - despeckle > - remove jpg artefacts > - dust removal I would like to implement this. But I need some hints on the algorithms (and more time). Maybe there are other users that want to write some plug-ins? Thorsten

Maybe something can be found in the 'gimp' sourcecode? I'd help out, but it's been too long I've written a single line of code :) thanks for considering, Marco PS: I'm a switcher (yep, one of those), and loved the features in photobrush for windows platform (http://www.mediachance.com).. maybe you can take a look for inspiration?

Hello, has anyone details about the algorithms (that are patent free)? > > thorsten, I think the despeckle is similar to the median filter, > however, I'm not quite sure. thorsten, check out the usenet group: comp.graphics.algorithms (through google http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=nl&l ... hics.algo= rithms) I've seen requests for the despeckle algo (and others) on there. Grua, Marco
