using mail with Graphic Converter 4.5 and Mac OS10

Hi, I'm using the new Graphic Converter 4.5.2 and love it except for the mail part, which I can't use because it's been grayed out. Thorsten Lemke told me that it may be because I had Outlook Express as my default mail program. So I changed it to Eudora. Still no luck. Does anyone know of a free email program that will work with Graphic Converter and Mac OSX?   Thanks,   Bill
