Zoom Gesture in Preview + Edit Filename

Post by abriden »

I am wondering why for all its complexity, Graphic Converter 12 seems to lack two basic and intuitive features in the browser:

1. In the preview pane, floating window or full-screen mode, one cannot zoom using the standard system gesture (pinch) that all other apps use.

2. In the thumbnail view, one cannot simply change a filename by clicking on it. The so-called 'simple method' brings up a complex dialogue aimed at renaming multiple files and 'edit filename' deletes the existing filename instead of allowing one to amend it.

I apologise in advance if I am missing something that's configurable, but I would appreciate confirmation.

Many thanks

Thanks for your feedback.

1) I add that to the todo list.

2) Just use the return key like in the Finder.

Thanks Thorsten.

Using the Return-Key does not highlight the text as in Finder — such that it can be ammended — I am finding that it deletes the existing filename and places the cursor in the empty field. What am I missing?

Return does switch to edit mode. It selects the filename (without extension). Do you maybe enter a second key which replaces the filename?

I get this with keys -> return and delete.

Only return -> perfect.

I can use the left mouse-key, too.

This is bizarre ...I select an item in the browser view. Clicking once on it -OR- pressing the Return key once -OR- selecting Edit Filename in the context menu ...they all delete the existing filename, leaving me with an empty field as shown below.

What happens if you delete the preference file?

Use GRAPHICCONVERTER FIRST AID

Yes I'm using version 12.0.6.

I found the relevant .plist file and removed it to reset preferences. This has fixed the issue.

It would appear however that there is a BUG as I presume any Setting that was intended to change the editing of filenames would have been mentioned as a solution. So now, I am left not knowing which custom-settings I can reinstate without killing the functionality again.
