Searching IPTC event field

Post by bxlsprout »

Hello,

I have a question about managing and searching metadata in GraphicConverter (v12).

For example, I will keyword a photo as "Birthday" and then use the IPTC event field to add to specify which particular birthday, e.g. "My 35th birthday". (And I use the Caption/Description field to describe in more detail what's happening in the photo.)

However, from what I can tell, the IPTC event field is not actually searchable in GC nor with Spotlight. Is that correct? Is there any way to set it as searchable?

Apologies if this has been addressed before. I didn't find anything in the manual or the forums about this particular issue.

Thank you!

GC uses Apple Spotlight.

Apple does not index all fields.

It supports:
Bildschirmfoto 2024-08-26 um 14.12.08.jpg
Bildschirmfoto 2024-08-26 um 14.12.08.jpg (37.77 KiB) Viewed 1651 times

Thank you for the quick reply, Thorsten! I suspected as much. I'll need to re-think my metatagging, since it's not a very useful field for me, if it's not searchable.
