[Solved] Rotate Left/Right in Metadata shortcut?

Post by PakkyT »

In the contextual menu (when right clicking an image in the browser) I want to create a keyboard shortcut for these two menu items...

However I can not find them anywhere in the GC edit shortcuts screen and doesn't seem to work if I use the Mac shortcuts settings area to create then there for GC. I assume these two are custom action into the Change Orientation Value settings where the left and right shifts the orientation tag one 90° rotation from whatever it currently is set?

Basically I would like to add a <something>R and <something>L shortcut to do this contextual menu. I see by default ⌘R and ⌥⌘R are already taken and I have a custom shortcut for ⌃⌥⌘R (control-option-command-R), but I am not picky about using other letters.

Also for clarification ⌘R/L do not seem to work on my RAW files (.orf) so are these JPG only commands? I just know that the two shown above in the contextual menu work correctly where the finder thumbnails are properly rotated as well.

Thank you.

The commands have already shortcuts in the menu Edit > Rotate.

No, those two are different command the ones I am asking for. Reference my first screen shot above, The two you mention are the two choices at the top of the contextual menu (above the 180° choice) while the two I want are the two at the bottom of that same menu, the two with arrows.

I did now mirror the three functions to the menu in the latest BETA:

So, you can assign custom shortcuts.

Perfect. Works great. Option-Command Left arrow and Option-Command right arrow were not used, so perfect for this. Now I can whip through folders of older pictures and fix the orientation in EXIF much faster than before. Thank you very much.

Now I have to go check the other fix you put in for me on the old Oly photo with no exif.

This is is now SOLVED.
