How to change the background colour of each page of a pdf ebook?

Hi all. I have a 200 page ebook. The background colour is a painfully bright white. This makes reading less than optimal for me. I want to change the background colour to a more placid grey. I can do this easily enough with 'replace colours' from the edit menu, but this is one page at a time. Is there a a different method to use replace colours, or a different and faster solution to this task? I mean, can I change the background colour of the pdf in one action? Thanks for any assist.
