Is there a way to reduce an image's size without losing quality? Put differently, is there a way to retain all data related to an image but to simply shrink it into a smaller space?
Here's the background to this question. I have a logo for a website that needs to be 200x200px. However, when I export a 200x200px image, it is a little blurry--both in terms of the output and how it looks not the website.
I have tried multiple file formats and multiple methods for shrinking the photo, but the results are always the same: low quality (even when "lossless" is on). The input image is .png, but I have tried other formats and the results are the same.
Additionally, if I upload an image that is 500x500px then use the website's CMS to shrink the image into a space of 200x200px, the image looks great. However, this approach leads to a site/page that isn't optimized. I can't help but think, though, that there's got to be a similar way to reduce a photo's size in GraphicConverter (i.e., forcing 500x500px of data into 200x200px of space).
Thanks!

Re: Reduce Image without Losing Quality?
Reduction of i.e. 500x500 pixels to 200x200 pixels will always loose quality. Because you have less pixels for the display.
Macs use often a retina display. So, you need for a standard 2x retina display normally an image with 400x400 pixels for sharp display at 200x200 pixels.
