Convert & Modify not activating

Running GC 12.4.3 on a Sequoia Mac 15.7.2.
When I open a folder of images and select all, then click "Convert & Modify", nothing happens.
I swear the window used to transform into a two column format with original on the left, options to modify in left sidebar, and destination on the right column. Now I get nothing. Where is my two column format? What am I doing wrong?

What happens if you select as display mode the icons (left symbol of the View options)?
