save in GC 4.9.3/OS 9

I scanned some pictures today for the first time since upgrading to GC 4.9 I wanted to select and save portions of some of the pictures. I noticed when I selected a portion of the picture, the save dialog gave me the option to save only the selection, as it had in the past. However, in older versions when you did the save the selection would be saved but the window containing the original would still be unsaved and called "untitled" Now the name that I save the selection under is also applied to the entire window containing the original picture. Is this a bug? If it's a new feature I have to say I don't like it. The saved name appearing in the window with the original picture gives the impression that the entire picture has been saved under that name. If it's not a bug, is there any way to turn it off and have the program handle saving the selection the same way the older versions did?
