Locked Files

Hi all   Probably very obvious, but once I run some images through GC using the Convert function they are all locked and if I want to make any further individual changes I need to manually unlock them first.  Is there any way to prevent them automatically being locked by GC following conversion?  I'm running Mac OS 9.1.   Thank you   Stuart
