Assign Color Profile

Post by Robert Poland »

Hi, Is there a way to disable the "Assign Color Profile" window that pops up with opening of every picture? This doesn't seem to be mentioned in either manual. OS 10.4.6, GC 5.8.b2x Tia, -- Bob Poland - Fort Collins, CO http://www.ibrb.org/

Browser Rotations

Post by Dominick Issi »

I'm not certain whether it's a hidden feature within OSX 10.4.6 or a bug within the newest GC 5.8.2 beta X, but my newest annoyance occurs when I attempt to rotate multiple (greater than 2) pictures in GC's browser view... selecting multiple JPGs with "cmd-click". I may or may not get the spinning ball showing it's working but I have to refresh (move in and out of the browser window) to see the rotation changes. This is the first I've noticed the issue. Any particular settings I'm now missing or is this being worked? Thanks///Dominik PS> Still LOVE GC and recommend at every opportunity!

I was annoyed by the same behaviour. The solution: Go to Preferences -> Browser->Preview Uncheck "Cache in Memory" This will fix the problem but also probably slow down viewing of images in Read-Only media like CDs. Talking about "Refresh" Most users are familiar with a web browser's "refresh" that truly fetches a new copy of the page. I wish GC browser refresh worked the same way. In the instance you describe the GC Refresh function doesn't work. One has click on another folder and then back to the original folder for a "refreshed" view. Also when someone renames a file in the browser. Shouldn't Refresh also Resort ? (I know there is a separate Resort function) Marino Dominick Issi wrote: > I'm not certain whether it's a hidden feature within OSX 10.4.6 or a > bug within the newest GC 5.8.2 beta X, but my newest annoyance occurs > when I attempt to rotate multiple (greater than 2) pictures in GC's > browser view... selecting multiple JPGs with "cmd-click". Hello, this would cause a lot of flicker. Also, this is a bit annoying if you want to rename some files. Hello Marino, what are your exact settings to reproduce this? No Thorsten, it wouldn't cause any flicker. In my browser toolbar I have a "Refresh" button and a "Resort" button. Why have two buttons ? Refresh should be able to do the same job as Resort. If I have three thumbnails sorted by name A.jpg B.jpg C.jpg And rename C.jpg to 0001.jpg I should be able to hit "Refresh" to get them in the correct sort order. That's what "refresh" means. "Something changed please give me a fresh view." I've watched many people hit "Refresh" after they rename a file in the browser and when the sort order doesn't change they think the button is broken. Hi Marino, refresh checks only for new files but does not change the file order. Resort rereads the complete file list. I know. But that's not what users expect. Hi, hmm, but how should I change it. Both buttons have different meanings.
