The previous beta would crash whenever I pasted anything into the alpha channel of a .png file. This one will let me paste, but selecting a portion of the image seems to grab and darken that portion of the alpha channel as well.Anthony B. Re: [gcmac] Scan from Fujitsu Scan Snap:? Hello, you have to scan with your application, save the file and open it with GraphicConverter. If you have to scan a lot I recommend to buy an Epson scanner. I think they all have TWAIN support so you can scan from within GraphicConverter which calls the Epson software which again gives the scanned image to GraphicConverter directly. For what it's worth, I suggest Ann(?) go to the Epson Web site, look for the "Closeout" link (or whatever it's called) where they list discontinued models at =low= prices =and= pay shipping! I got a Perfection 2580 Photo for $25 to replace my SCSI MicroTek, and love it. I recently purchased a refurbished Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner, which lists new for about $200 on the internet, from the Epson online store for under $100. I had been planning to buy a scanner that could also scan medium-format negatives (2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches) as well as slides, and it was exactly what I needed. It came with a TWAIN driver that works fine using GraphicConverter's Acquire function. VueScan supports it, as well. -Gordon On 5/25/07, Bill Williams <wwilliams.che57@gtalumni.org> wrote: --- In gcmac@yahoogroups.com, Hagen Henke <hagen.henke@...> wrote:> you have to scan with your application, save the file and open it> with GraphicConverter. It occurs with every .png file I work on:1. Create a new image2. Save as Anything.png (Set Format from Extension)3. Add Alpha/Mask Channel4. Show Alpha/Mask Channel5. Fill the Alpha/Mask Channel with a medium grey6. Hide Alpha/Mask Channel7. Select a portion of the image with the rectangular selection tool8. Move the selection and deselect9.  Show Alpha/Mask ChannelThe deselected area shows up on the Alpha/Mask Channel as a dark rectangleAnthonyOn May 25, 2007, at 12:23 am, Thorsten Lemke wrote: Hello, hmm, how can I exactly reproduce? Hello Thorsten - I tried using the Automator action for writing IPTC info, and this does not seem to work. The IPTC fields get something written to them, but it looks like junk. In the byline field, for example, I put Oi. When I browse in GC and look at the IPTC fields for the image from there, it comes out as: dle2
