Phantom files

I have a few thousand photos in many folders and subfolders, and mainly access them only with GraphicConverter and an AppleScript program. The program has been causing some image files to be duplicated, although the program contains no file copy operation. Perhaps my G4 OS X 10.3.8 system has a quirk, but the "Finder" commands "set theCreator to creator type of " an image file and "set theType to file type of " an image file. If you are interested, please copy my demo of this problem to your computer and run the short AppleScript program. See the "Description" portion of the AppleScript program for the problem that I see. Please let me know what your observe. Use "iDisk Utility" for user "dalegaumer" to find folder ProblemDemo, which you may copy to your computer.
