Re: AppleScript

Post by Gnarlodious »

I don't know if y'all remember Brian Drumm. He was a regular on the Applescript list for a long time and worked on a lot of GC applescript problems. He registered a domain http://GraphicConverterScripting.com/ which he still owns. He wanted it to be a dedicated site for GC Applescripting. At the time, he was pretty enthusiastic about the idea, but when he figured out how horrendous GC was in the Applescript department he lost interest. If in fact GC undergoes an Applescript makeover, he may be willing to follow through on his original idea. I know for one, I would like to see a Wiki site dedicated to Graphic Converter where users create the online manual collaboratively, searchable and with screenshots. It seems likely in the future GC will be the premier Mac image application especially as Apple replaces Windows as a hardware company. As a regular participant at http://Discussions.Apple.com/ I am amazed at the number of new Mac users in the last 6 months. -- Gnarlie http://Gnarlodious.com/Computer/GraphicConverter On 7/3/07, Walter Ian Kaye <yahoo@natural-innovations.com> wrote: > I will have to set aside some time to work on this (and study more > features of this amazing program, since updating only a few commands > would go against consistency), but first I would need to know some > things: > > 1) If additional subroutines needed to be written to connect updated > AppleScript commands to internal functionality, is that ok? > > 2) Should any backward compatibility be retained, or should this be a > completely "pure" design? > > 3) What version # of GKON would this be scheduled for?
