turn off window staggering

Opening files used to always place them at the upper left corner of my screen, now they are staggering. Is there a preference to turn the stagger off (a quick look didn't turn up anything)? If not, can that be added? I do image comparisons all the time and toggle through a series looking for small changes--the windows all need to be in the same location for that to work.
