clear background

Post by EasyWriter »

Please indulge this question from a rank beginner. I have a round logo, but in a .jpg the image is a square with a white background filling the space around the circle. I would like to make the background clear so that it can overprint other items and the round logo occupy a round space. I believe this would need a .png. Otherwise, can someone tell me what to do. Many thanks, Jeff
