catalogue bug?

Post by Rowland Carson »

I've recently bought GC 8 after using GC 5.9.5 for some years. I find the catalogue creation is not as accurate in the new version as in the old. I regularly use that function to create catalogues of folders which have up to 100 images in each. In GC 5.9.5 I used the parameters Picture width 1280, height 960 and Thumbnail width 158, height 117. That showed 8 pictures per row & 7 per column in the catalogue setup dialog box, and the resulting catalogues had the same dimensions. I set up the catalogue dialogue box in GC 8 with the same numbers for height & width and got the same 8 x 7 prediction. However, on actually creating the catalogue, the result is 8 across but only 6 high. If I reduce the thumbnail height to 107 pixels, that predicts 8 per column, but I actually get 7 per column. Is this a bug, or is there some extra feature in GC8 that I have failed to configure correctly to achieve the same result as in GC5? My environment: MacBook Pro 2.66GHz core i7, 8GB RAM Mac OS 10.6.8 (still thinking about 10.8 - I'll need to buy a new scanner that doesn't need Rosetta for the drivers) GraphicConverter 8.8.1 GraphicConverter 5.9.5 X in friendship Rowland : Rowland Carson ... that's Rowland with a 'w' ... : <rowlandcarson@gmail.com> http://www.rowlandcarson.org.uk : Skype, Twitter: rowland_carson Facebook: Rowland Carson : pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/rowlandcarson
