How do you Edit Text Objects

I have an image in which there are several lines of text. After saving and reopening the image, the text objects do not appear in the text objects window and I have not discovered a way of editing them. I need to do this on a regular basis. How is it done? Any advice will be appreciated.GC ver. 8.8.2 (1367)

Hello,the text objects are merged into the image upon save.
