Opening Superpaint Files

Post by Ralph Strauch »

I have some old Superpaint files I’d love to be able to open. Recent versions of GC can’t open them, but I’m wondering if there is an older version that can and that will run on OSX? -- ------------------------------------------------- Ralph Strauch, Ph.D., Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner "Composing Experience" blog <http://www.somatic.com/blog/> Author of "Low-Stress Computing, Using awareness to avoid RSI" and "The Reality Illusion: How you make the world you experience," <http://www.somatic.com/> -------------------------------------------------

None of those help, unfortunately, but thanks. I’m hoping an older version of GC might work. The earliest I have is v6.3, running in OSX 10.5. I’m hoping to find an earlier OSX version that might work.Ralph On Jun 11, 2015, at 12:53 PM, Peter Fackelmann pfackelmann@gmx.net [gcmac] <gcmac@yahoogroups.com> wrote:Ralph -searching for "Superpaint open mac“ I foundhttp://forum.maccast.com/index.php?/topic/16254-converting-superpaint-files/http://compgroups.net/comp.sys.mac.apps ... gardsPeter> Am 11.06.2015 um 21:09 schrieb Ralph Strauch rstrauch@mac.com [gcmac] <gcmac@yahoogroups.com>:> > SuperpaintI have some old Superpaint files I’d love to be able to open. Dear Ralph,SuperPaint, MacDraw 2, Claris Draw are vector based file formats. The details was never published on the internet (only MacDraw 1).So, I was not able to implement an importer. Please contact me if you find any file format details.Thorsten None of those help, unfortunately, but thanks. Good news for the SuperPaint fans.  I've been following this thread because I used to use SuperPaint many moons ago.  I clicked the link, found their download link (http://www.rgshoup.com/prof/SuperPaint/SP.zip), downloaded and installed in Windows 8.1 in Parallels and it launched and it seemed to work.  I have no idea how to use it but it launched.  I hope this solves your problem.Jim

Well I am not sure I remember how it works.  It has an unusual interface and no text menus.  I will try again later because I just spent 45 minutes fighting Parallels and Windows 8.1.  Parallels had an update available and Windows had 90 critical updates available.  When both were updating, I lost control of the Mac.  Activity Monitor showed Parallels and Windows were using 90%-122% of the processor time.  I don't understand the 122% but so be it.  I will launch SuperPaint later this morning and see if I can save a file or two and send them to you.---In gcmac@yahoogroups.com, <lemke@...> wrote :Dear Jim,interesting. Can I get some sample SuperPaint files for testing?Thorsten Good news for the SuperPaint fans.

Thorsten,I can provide some Superpaint files. Where would you like me to send them? The rgshoup.com reference isn’t really related, apparently. There’s a note at the bottom of that page that says: Note: This system is not related to the popular "SuperPaint" software program developed and sold by Aldus some years later. Only the name is the same.RalphOn Jun 12, 2015, at 5:25 AM, Thorsten Lemke lemke@lemkesoft.de [gcmac] <gcmac@yahoogroups.com> wrote:Can I get some sample SuperPaint files for testing?ThorstenGood news for the SuperPaint fans.
