Rotate a selection before pasting?

I'm using 9.7.5. I want to copy/paste an image onto a new image. Is there a way to rotate the selected image (preferable a live rotation) before pasting it? I know I can rotate the selection frame itself, but that seems like a useless feature.

Hello,yes, just paste the image onto a new layer.Use Layer/TransformRotate the layer.Thorsten I'm using 9.7.5. I want to copy/paste an image onto a new image.
