Apple OS 10.11.6 and GC 10.4.1 (2758)

Browser thumbnails have stopped refreshing automatically after editing an image - the preview is correct but the old thumbnail is retained.

They can be refreshed manually by F5 or Ctrl -> Refresh but the thumbnails used to refresh automatically on saving and edited image.

Did you try a restart? Normally the file manager sends the update events.

Did you try to trash the GraphicConverter prefs with the GraphicConverter First Aid tool?

OK - looks like trashing the preferences has fixed it

Sorry - spoke too soon.

Preferences trashed, system restarted but problem remains - thumbnails only update on a manual refresh.

This problem existed some versions back, perhaps a year or so. Then got fixed and has now returned ...

Hmm ... OK, most times it does refresh automatically but not always. I can't work out the sequence that leads to the thumbnail not refreshing - I'll come back if I do.

Can you maybe update your macOS?
Did you try to verify the disk?

OS10.11.16 is as far as I can go without buying a new Mac

I've run Disk Utility First Aid on my images disk (external Firewire) and no problems show.

I'm currently running GC Image Verification on the folder of images I'm currently working on - no problems showing on any of the images affected.

As previously, preferences have been trashed with GC First Aid.

One oddity that has appeared in the last few days is that when I quit GC, it seems to think it has crashed, even after having trashed the preferences. When I reopen, the Crash Reporter comes up. I have just forwarded this to you.

Still getting the situation where sometimes auto refresh works and mostly it doesn't - the more editing I do, the more likely it is not to refresh but I still can't determine the exact sequence which causes auto refresh to fail.

Do you use the normal or the Mac App Store version of GraphicConverter?
