Re: new image from selection -shortcut?
Just use the system preferences part Keyboard Shortcuts to assign a user defined shortcut.

I recently upgraded to Sierra and didn't know the OS had that function. Have you tried it with GC?
After consulting the Apple website for the correct formatting of the Menu item, I assigned Cmd-B to 'New->Image From Selection'. According to the Apple/Sierra web site the dash-Rt Arrow is necessary when referring to sub-menu items. They also mention that this doesn't work with all applications, so I guess the program has to be set up for it, right?
I quit GC and restarted but all I got was the Mac's 'thud' sound that tells us we're doing something wrong. I tried Opt-Cmd-N as well, same result.

You have to enter the command name only from the submenu exact as written and it will work.
So, no New ->
So, no New ->
Re: [Solved] new image from selection -shortcut?
Dumb me. I capitalized 'From' and that screwed it up. Also I learned that entering the 'New->' is not necessary, all it needs is 'Image from Selection'. --and Cmd-B is fine, it's not associated with any other hot keys.
Thanks,
Greg
