After your last update, it seems that files no longer have preview icons. Old savings keep them but if I change and save the preview icon disappears.
By preview icon I mean that instead of the GC-icon the icon in the Finder shows a little preview of the picture.

Re: Preview icons disappear
I had the same problem on my Mac Pro using GraphicConverter 11.3.3. When I created a new GC file on the desktop, the preview pic looked fine, but when I moved the file into a folder the generic icon was displayed instead of the photo. Mr. Lemke suggested enabling the display of a preview in the finder display prefs of the folder.
Problem solved! This setting was the default in prior OS versions, but after I installed High Sierra months ago, those checkboxes are left unchecked.
For me, GraphicConverter is and always has been the best graphic app anywhere.
Many thanks, Mr. Lemke!
