[Solved] Setting up an AutoConvert folder with a file renaming option
[Solved] Setting up an AutoConvert folder with a file renaming option
I have a particular rename style I use for renaming files from the EXIF date data in the files off my camera. I'd like to have a folder which GC will watch and automatically rename any files I add to it. I don't see that functionality in the Auto Convert command.

Re: how to setup a watched folder for renaming
This is currently not possible.
The Auto Convert folders do support only batch conversions of the content.
I add that to the ToDo list.

Re: how to setup a watched folder for renaming
in order to help Thorsten, a pair of sample maybe useful
img12345.jpg w/exif data ... ... ... became filename ... ... ... ?

Re: [Open] Setting up an AutoConvert folder with a file renaming option
It is a pretty standard addition of a date string: _DSF8786.RAF ==> 20170122_DSF8786.RAF. I imagine the tricky part is recognizing those files that have already been renamed once and not trying to do it again if the To folder is the same as the watched folder.

I rechecked this old issue.
You can just add the batch rename with set to your auto convert.
