Text pixelated after flattening?

I don't remember this happening before, but whenever I add a text box item on top of an existing picture the font looks perfect, but when I go to print or otherwise flatten the text items to save, they become all pixelated and ugly. What am I doing wrong here? I've had to resort to doing the picture work in GC, then copying it over to Pages (mac) to add the text boxes. Thanks!

Did you check "Text Antialias" in the text palette? That is checked by default.
