TOO FAT IMAGES

Post by georges »

Still the same problem.

Using either GC 5.9 or 6.7.9 on OS 10.6.6, when I crop an image, even if I keep 50% of it, when I save it, it takes almost two times the space of the original one.
For example : if I modify an image of 350k, it may become 800k.
Is thare any way to "degrease" images by converting while appliying a treatment, for example ?

Thanks

Hi,

this maybe caused by two items:

1) Maybe you did enable the custom preview in the resource.
Please uncheck the following in the prefs part Save/Resource Fork:

2) Select File/Save As.
Select JPEG as format and click onto Options.
Enable the checkbox to calculate the file size.
Adjust now the quality.
The displayed file size will match upon saving.
