[Closed] GC11 hangs repeatedly when access to Apple Photos is granted?

GC11 is freshly installed on my brand new iMac 27", 3.6 GHz i9, 16 GB ram with last Mojave OS. For a while, I could not use GC at all since it was repeatedly hanging, for minutes, with a simple browser open and no activity going on (except for just setting the app preferences).
With activity monitor, I noticed a 100% use of CPU, with some Apple processes jumping in from time to time...
A similar behavior was noticed previously also with GC10 on an older Mac, but still unexplained.
Then I unchecked the permission to accede the Apple Photos library, relaunched the app and everything seemed to run smoothly.
My conclusion is that this permission should not be granted to avoid the problem. Did anybody experience any similar issue?
My Photos library is huge, although the original pictures are external to the library.
