[Solved] Using the text tool for notes - pointers and angles?

Used the Note tool in effort to install a note that would be place with arrow line and text base.
#1 - Can't see an arrow head at the initiation point to the note. If there is a very tiny one in place, I can't find a setting to rescale it. The features are not editable like with a line.
#2 - It appears that the baseline for the text is always placed to the right side of the end of the arrow. This is fine when the pointer arrow starts on the left and heads to the right. But when the pointer arrow starts on the right and heads to the left, the text baseline is placed at an acute angle relative to the pointer segment.

I've attached a screen shot that illustrates both the lack of arrows and the odd way the text baseline appears in certain cases.

You define the arrow/circle size with the following setting:
