Import from Digital Camera doesn't work

Having updated to MacOS 10.15.1 my iPhone acts like it is constantly locked for import. I see the camera but there are no photos recorded in it.
I can export the pictures through Dropbox.
I have had a lot of trouble with 10.15 but most of it has disappered with cleaning actions. Any ideas for fixing this issue?
I use GC 11.1.1.
By the way: It might be a good idea to move out from hiding under Scan.

Hi,

I just checked.

I opened a browser.
Selected the unlocked iPhone under devices.
-> I get all images in the browser.

Did you try a restart or another cable?

Solved.
I read your answer and tried another time. I saw a folder in my home folder containing old serches form StuffIt which I don't use anymore. I put it to the Bin and flushed it out. And then I could see the files in my camera.
Very strange, but it worked.
