[Solved] File Rename via EXIF

Post by tbutler »

I'm trying to use the Batch Rename to add the EXIF tag LensModel (which appears to be 0xa434 according to https://exiftool.org/TagNames/EXIF.html ) to the filename. However, when I try using either Rename (simple method) or Rename (advanced method), it doesn't appear to recognize the tag.

The EXIF tag was originally added by the camera (Olympus E-M1 Mk II), but was edited on several of the photos in GC 11 itself:

Final oddity: When I try to do a rename on the original .ORF RAW files, it does appear to work (although it ignores the space I try to include separating the original filename from the added LensModel tag):

Not sure why it isn't working on the JPEG - the tag shows up when I use Edit Complete EXIF on the JPEG file, as shown in the screenshot above.

Any suggestions?

Hi Travis,

please download the latest BETA:

That should fix the issue.
